Along with our partners, SIILK, we hosted our 1st Annual 2018 Hats, Heels, and High Tea event on Saturday, April 21st. Resplendent in hats and heels, while sipping teas and nibbling on petit fours, we had a motivating and exciting day designed to support and enhance major programs sponsored by The Regalettes, Inc. and SIILK to include: our 2018 Teen Leadership Conference, Scholarship Programs, and STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics). We recognize the immense value of these programs. And, was an opportunity for us to communicate, network, and join forces to help our children realize their maximum potential and become ambassadors for our world.
Today’s youth simply need greater scientific and technological literacy. Being competent in STEM fields are critical, particularly in medicine and the latest technology. SIILK and the Regalettes have a shared goal of significantly exposing more female students to these fields of study.

We also acknowledged four outstanding women for their generosity, individual accomplishments and being stewards of our communities: Carolyn Hines, Visionary of Hines Hospitality Group; Juwana Myles, Executive Director, This is Girlpower; Delilah Lanoix, Co-Owner, SMS Transportation Servicies; and Vera Stewart, Senior Vice President, Bank of America.

On April 22, 2017 the Regalettes Inc. held a private screening of the movie Hidden  Figures at the Rave Theatre in Baldwin Hills and invited 40 STEM (science, technology, engineering and math) students to attend with the SIILK organization.  This was the kickoff event for a larger outreach collaboration to create a leadership and mentorship program to include at-risk, foster and inner city youth.  Stay tuned for more details
